Fear- The Best Thing to Happen
By: MIssionary Team
Fear, it’s probably the most common thing that holds us back from doing most things in our lives, but my question is why?
The answer is because we like being comfortable. We like knowing what is to come and having everything the way we intended it, but in reality, God has other plans. In today’s world, not a lot of people like taking risks, stepping out of their comfort zone, or changing up their daily routines. In the end, everyone wants to remain comfortable, because that’s “easy”.
Let’s be real, life isn’t supposed to be easy, and we are supposed to be challenged and face many trials almost every single day. Having those struggles in our life is what makes us stronger, because of that fight we go through to face them. In today’s world, that is not the case, especially with the many things we face every day. Stuff like COVID-19, riots, and elections, have caused people to be scared and try to remain comfortable. Therefore, nothing is happening and our world is suffering.
Our call as disciples of Jesus Christ is to go out into this world and make disciples of our own, but how are we supposed to do that if everything is so scary? We can do that by facing that sense of fear that holds us back from doing the things we are called to do. Will Smith once said, “God placed the best things in life on the other side of FEAR.”
God intended for this life to be full of challenges, but even more importantly, full of fear, because when we push through and conquer the things that hold us back we will be rewarded. As stated above, God has placed the best things in life on the other side of fear, God has a plan and He knows what He is doing, and in the end, we can not let our earthly fears hold us back from following the plan that God has intended for us. If we want to find out what is on the other side of fear, we have to go into the uncomfortable with full force to get to the other side that the Lord has planned for us.
In reality, if we have fear about things that are in our paths of life, we need to have trust in God the Father. So if we don’t have trust in our Heavenly Father, we might not even have faith, because faith is having total and complete trust in God. Obtaining that goal of rejoicing in eternal life in heaven is not supposed to be something that is just handed to us.
God the Father’s only Son died on a cross for us to be able to have the goal of obtaining heaven, so why should something such as heaven just be given to us without having to fight through the struggles of fear in our lives? We need to have that fear because it shows that the fight is worth it, worth fighting for, and is something that we can all get through together.
Today is the day we stop letting fear be that dividing factor in our life, that excuse that we use so we are able to always stay in the comfortable state of life. Today we face our fears and reach the uncomfortable to achieve greatness in heaven!
